A pumpkin spice cream cheese swirl really enhances this basic brownie recipe. Perfect when the weather turns cooler and pumpkin season is upon us! The rich chocolatey brownie pairs really well with pumpkin. The cream cheese swirl adds a tartness that goes well with the sweet brownie. You will be whining for more!
½ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 ½ tsp Kahlua or coffee liqueur
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup all purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
3 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 can of pumpkin
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
Preheat oven to 350.
Melt ½ cup of butter in a medium mixing bowl over bowling water. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and coffee flavored liqueur.
In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder.
Mix dry ingredients into the warm, wet ingredients.
In a separate bowl, mix together 4 oz softened cream cheese, ½ can of pumpkin, 1 Tbsp of sugar.
Spread brownie mixture into a small greased baking dish. Top with pumpkin cream cheese mixture and swirl into brownie mixture.
Bake for 20-25 min at 350.
